71 West Ranch Wedding | Andy & Mandy

Q: How did you two meet?

A: β€œWe met at a house party hosted by Andy and his roommates while attending Texas State University. We always think it’s funny that we met before we actually "met." Andy had always felt that he had known me before we actually met at his house in 2013. A few months into dating Andy discovered through Facebook photos (back when we would upload 500 photos into 1 album- guilty as charged) that we had crossed paths before. 375 photos deep into my Spring Break 2011 album...there I am, dancing on a cooler, holding a jug of pre-made shots with none other than Andy Erickson in a cowboy hat chugging from my jug!! UGH college romance, isn't it beautiful?”

Q: Tell us about your wedding details and venue.

A: β€œWe chose 71 West Ranch because it is owned and operated by our family. We have been working so hard to get 71 West developed the last two years so we couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else! When envisioning our wedding day, we really just wanted to highlight the natural scenery of our ranch. With the help of our friend Sydney at Lemon Leaf Florist our vision came to life! The decor featured loose grasses and dusty colors that really complimented the true beauty of the property at 71 West. It truly was a dream, we wish we could relive this day over and over! We can't wait to be able to share 71 West and all the possibilities it offers to many couples to come!”

Q: What was your favorite part of the wedding day?

A: β€œOur favorite part of our wedding day may be different than most. After 2 1/2 years of our family putting so much hard work into this venue, it was the most incredible feeling watching it come to life. Making our "grand entrance" through the 100+ year old doors we handpicked to all of our closest friends and family cheering for us...we are still speechless. A moment that is truly incomparable to any other.

...but we also truly enjoyed the 20 minutes of eating crab cakes and shrimp tostadas alone with each other (Married!!) beforehand waiting for that grand entry moment!!”

Prospect House | Flannery + Nick's New Years Eve Wedding

In their own words.

Q:  How did you meet?

A:  We were high school sweethearts, we met freshmen year.

Q:  Tell us about your wedding details.

A:  We chose Prospect House because we wanted to get married in the Texas hill country but we didn't want to go too rustic. The venue capitalized two things we love about Texas, the rolling hills and open sky. Having a modern blank space, we were able to incorporate more romantic elements like lanterns, candle light, greenery and organic florals to soften the ceremony and reception space without over powering it. When I was describing to Kate the type of aesthetic I wanted, West Elm meets Anthropology, she got it right away and the result was the perfect mix of modern, romance and whimsey.

Q:  What was your favorite part of the wedding day?

A:  Flannery- My favorite part was walking into the ceremony. I hadn't seen it lit up and fully put together yet and it was breathtaking. I was really anxious and ready to just get married but walking outside to the candle lit ceremony space with my parents, surrounded by loved ones and seeing Nick waiting at white square framed by the hills made me calm down and just live in the moment. Also, there were several fireworks that went off in the background during our ceremony as well so it felt like everyone was celebrating with us.

Nick- Seeing her in her dress for the first time. It was also great celebrating with so many of our close friends and family.

The Plant at Kyle | Ashley + Jake

It's been a while since this wedding but I love it so much I went 3 hard drives back to find it and post it.  Ashley and Jake did an amazing job with the details.  I especially love the flowers and place settings.  Not to mention The Plant at Kyle is one of my top 5 wedding venues in the greater Austin area.  I love Lake Flato design and architecture.  Truly stunning!

From the bride and groom..

"The Plant was incredible! We instantly fell in love with the modern, industrial building against the sprawling 12 acres of hill country. We did most things ourselves with the help of our friends and family. We had a lovely rehearsal dinner at The Plant where we ate barbecue, danced and roasted s'mores by the fire. Our family got to stay with us in the house all weekend, so we had plenty of time to decorate and get everything ready. Plus you can have your friends camp on the 12 acres! (Only one strong couple survived the cold!) It was a lovely time filled with loved ones and so many good memories! "
