Mercury Hall Wedding | Phuong + Andy

Q:  How did you meet?

"I met Andy at a 4th of July lake party. This would be the first chance we had to interact outside of work. We hit it off right away, and he asked me on a date the next day. I actually had to work that same evening and remember coming home the following morning and passing out but still setting the alarm to wake up in 4hrs for our afternoon date. Our first date was magical. We hopped around Grandin Village in Roanoke Virginia from 1pm until 11pm. This broke the record for my longest first date. I remember a lot of laughter, comfort and joy."

Q:  What was your favorite part of the day?

"Our favorite part was the reception and dancing! The rituals of the day was over and it was just time to party.  If anyone is debating on whether to hire a band, we are ALL FOR YES! Especially Royal Dukes Band. They were so energetic. That was the first time I've seen any of my older relatives dance. My dad was out of control---he loved the music so much! Andy's 96 year old grandmother stayed up til the end of the night because she was having too much fun."

Q:  Any advice you'd like to give other couples?

"Advice to couples planning a wedding: 1) Wedding planning is stressful, especially if you want to really customize it and have many vendors. Get a planner so everyone can enjoy the day. 2) Everyone has an opinion and it will feel like you are planning for an expensive party to treat everyone else. But remember it is your special day so stick to what you want. 3) Have a budget in mind or things can get out of control. 4) When you see your future husband/wife down the aisle, it makes it all worth it!"
