Commons Ford Ranch | Austin Elopement Session

This fun elopement session was shot on a very overcast and somewhat drizzly day at Commons Ford Ranch. We almost cancelled the shoot and I’m soooooo glad we didn’t because it turned out awesome! Covid has brought the good the bad and the ugly but one new trend is smaller more intimate weddings or eloping with just the two of you. Austin has become a major hub for elopements and I’m not mad about it. These smaller more intimate weddings and elopements are by far my favorite. It takes the stress away from all the details and puts the focus on you and your love story. I can’t get enough of the pictures in the back of their Jeep with there puppy :).

Couples Photographer Austin | Kat & Chris

Kat is an amazingly talented photographer. We used to spend many hours at Cherrywood Coffeehouse editing, working remotely and eating all the french fries. It’s been a while since I’ve hung out with her because kids and life and all that jazz so I was super excited when she contacted me about taking pictures for her and Chris!

Getting to know a bit more about Kat and Chris….

Q: How did you two meet?
A: We met from the dating app, Hinge, back in July. :) I (Kat) pre-gamed on an empty stomach, only ate an appetizer (because nerves) for dinner and 6 hours later we were trading piggy back rides around town lake not wanting the night to end.

Q: What do you do for fun together?
A: Cooking together, Learning and trying new things, Brainstorming business ideas such as… Dripping Springs first Avocado Orchard. Bootleg Tequila, undisclosed location (ha). Road trips to sleepy small ghost towns to see how creative we can get with one another and Two Stepping on toes :)

Q: Who cooks more?
A: About equal. Chris usually handles the meat and if it grows from ground or fish, I handle that part.

Q: Next trip you want to take together?
A: Mexico! San Miguel de Allende specifically

Q: Tell us about your outfits and styling to prepare for the photo shoot.
A: Chris is still working hard for that wrangler sponsorship. Mine is all from Lulus.com
