Q: How did you meet?

A: "We met in 8th grade on the tennis team and became good friends freshman year of high school. Hunter had a crush on me but took his time to develop our friendship. We had our first jobs together that summer as camp counselors and started hanging out everyday after work, bumming around at the mall and such. At the end of the summer, he finally got the courage to share his feelings and we started dating. We were each other’s first loves. We ended up going separate ways after high school and it wasn’t until late college that our paths crossed again through a series of serendipitous events and we started spending time together regularly. We both thought we were “just friends.” Soon enough, we realized it was something more and fell in love again. We dated for seven more years after that until Hunter finally proposed under the supermoon eclipse!"

Q: What was your favorite part of the wedding day?

A: Taylor... "There were so many special moments. It was a whirlwind. Saying our own vows was really touching. My sister and her boyfriend sang at the reception and it was incredible. Right before the ceremony, my bridesmaids and I started singing the chorus to Alanis Morrisette’s “Ironic” (It’s like rain on your wedding day) at the top of our lungs—it was supposed to thunderstorm all day and just missed us—a true miracle. At the end of the night, we walked home after running through sparklers at the reception—it was just a few blocks away from our house in Southtown San Antonio."

Hunter... "I had several high points throughout the day, most involving intimate moments shared with the people we love. Instead of a groomsmen’s brunch, my guys joined me for a low-key home cooked breakfast at my parents' house. Two of the groomsmen, one of whom is a chef at San Antonio's Esquire Tavern, whipped up some killer breakfast tacos for us. The cross-town car ride with my groomsmen to our ceremony site, during which we played Beatles tunes and joked as I wrote my gift exchange letter for Taylor, was another special memory. As the marriage ceremony drew near, I became increasingly aware of my nerves; so I was grateful for the first wedding blooper (my brother lining up in the wrong position and my sister redirecting him), which allowed me to let go and enjoy the moment."

Q: Anything else you'd like to add?

A: "It was a joy working with Lisa as a photographer. We knew her work because she's been photographing my cousins' families for years and she was the only photographer I could imagine capturing our wedding. Thank you, Lisa!"
