The Prairie | Julia + Hank's Wedding

Q:  How did you meet?

A:  "We met the first week of college at a party and were immediately drawn to each other. We remained good friends for a couple years and started dating at the end of our Sophomore year. We have been together for almost 7 years :)"

Q:  Tell us about your wedding details.

A:  "We knew we wanted a destination wedding in a small town so everyone would be together the entire weekend and it would be a little retreat for our guests. I knew the Prairie by Rachel Ashwell was the one when I saw the amazing white barn and an open field to the side of it, perfect for our outdoor ceremony. I liked that it was in the country side but still had an elegance to it as Rachel Ashwell is the queen of shabby chic. I loved the juxtaposition of the classic feel in a southern setting. It was truly a dream and our vendors did an amazing job!

Q:  Tell us something funny about the event or the two of you.

A:  "We waited until after our wedding reception to fill out the wedding certificate...but everyone was too intoxicated to figure it out. It turned into a dilemma of everyone trying to read it and tell us what to sign but it sounded like gibberish to all of us at that point. We signed it in the morning :)"

Q:  Anything else you'd like to add?

A:  "Lisa Woods and her assistant did the most amazing job capturing our wedding day. There are so many good pictures we are having trouble picking out our favorite ones for our wedding album!"

Barr Mansion Wedding | Kindall + Scott

Q:  How did you meet?

A: "We both grew up in San Antonio and went to all the same schools from 1st grade through high school. We had mutual friends, but didn't know each other that well until we had a class together senior year of high school. We became fast friends and I ended up with a big crush on Scott, but graduation happened and we went off to different colleges, A&M for Scott and Texas State for me. We both moved to Austin after we graduated and that is where we reconnected about 4 years ago."

Q:  Tell us about your wedding details.

A:  "Barr Mansion had everything we were looking for; a natural shady outdoor area for the ceremony (we got married under the big oak tree), two amazing plan B options that didn't feel like an after thought in the event of rain (the farmstead and the ballroom), beautiful grounds that scream Austin, and delicious organic food with ingredients grown from the gardens onsite. The decor was very custom to our tastes. It could be described as midcentury boho -- overall very eclectic. We started out with soft and muted colors in a range of creams and blushes for the ceremony and the colors increase in vibrancy and range as the night progresses with warm tones from coral, deep orange, terra cotta, golden rod, to sage and emerald green for the reception. Usage of succulents and air plants, terrariums, candles, drift wood, bold stationery, colorful patterned rugs, and soft lounges added interest and layered the design.
